Adding to Your Color Palette

While a predefined color palette lets you uniformly set the colors of your Pro/ENGINEER® parts, there may be situations when you want to copy a particular color from an existing part or assembly. There’s a simple way to “borrow” color from other models.

1. Open the part or assembly containing the color you wish to copy.
2. From the View menu, select Model Setup, Color & Appearances.
3. From the Appearances dialog box, select Modify From Model and pick the object displaying the color you want.
4. When the Appearance Editor dialog box pops up, simply hit Cancel. Pro/ENGINEER will add the color to the active palette. You can then apply it to other parts or assemblies.
5. To store the palette containing the new color, select File and Save As from the top of the Appearances dialog box.
